Quincy Wilson Entered In 200, Could Also Make 800 Debut By Doug Binder, DyeStat Editor David Hicks photo Fresh off a massively successful weekend at the Pepsi Florida Relays, the Bullis School MD's track and field team is moving up the East coast and will compete at the Beach Run Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Bullis girls broke the 20-year-old national high school record in the 4x400 relay when Payton Payne, Sydney Sutton, Kennedy Brown and Morgan Rothwell linked up to run 3:35.23. Those four are likely to compete in individual events at Myrtle Beach. WATCH THE BEACH RUN INVITATIONAL LIVE ON RUNNERSPACE (+PLUS required) Sutton is the top entry on the girls 200-meter start list. Rothwell and Payne are in the 400. Sophomore Quincy Wilson, who ran a US#1 45.19 in his 400-meter opener, is entered in the 200 meters and is entered to take his first attempt at an 800 this weekend. One of the focal points of the Bullis season is on the horizon: The Penn Relays are three weeks away in Philadelphia. Taylor Gullatte from Woodward Academy GA comes in as the top seed in the girls 100 meters with a best of 11.67 seconds. Southern Cal commit Jazonte Levan from Seaford DE heads the list in the boys 100 (10.47) and 200 (20.61). Camerin Williams from DuPont DE, who was fifth at New Balance Nationals Indoor, is the top entry in the boys 400. Madison Gardner of Woodward Academy GA, who won the Christian Coleman Invitational 400 on March 16 in 53.62, will take on the duo from Bullis. In the girls javelin, Brett Jones of Porter Gaud SC, who threw a US#1 mark of 166-5 on March 13, is scheduled to compete. More news |
