After so many records and firsts, Quincy Wilson might be closing in on another.

For instance, has a high school runner ever set records for 200 meters and 800 meters in the same year?

Wilson seems capable of doing so. In his first open 800 meters, the Bullis School MD sophomore ran a US#2 time of 1:50.44 Friday in the Beach Run Invitational at Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Perhaps he won’t race the distance again this year. If he does, he could challenge the sophomore class record of 1:48.98 set by Michael Granville of Bell Gardens CA in 1994.

Wilson’s Bullis teammate, Colin Abrams, was New Balance Nationals Indoor runner-up in 1:49.71.

At Myrtle Beach, Abrams built a lead with a 52.79 first lap, followed by Wilson in 54.44. Then Wilson caught up at the top of home stretch and beat Abrams, who finished second in 1:51.11. Abrams came back to win the 1,600 in 4:19.39.

Camerin Williams of DuPont DE, also moving up in distance, was third in the 800 in 1:51.81. He was fifth at New Balance in the 400.

Wilson was coming off a US#1 of 45.19 in the 400 at Pepsi Florida Relays a week ago.

Indoors, he set sophomore class records of 21.02 at 200, 1:01.27 at 500 and 1:17.36 at 600. He capped the winter by running a national high school and under-18 world record of 45.76 in the 400 at New Balance.

On Saturday, Wilson ran the anchor for Bullis, which won the 4x400 relay in 3:11.48 over DC schools Archbishop Carroll, 3:14.15, and DeMatha, 3:14.24. Wilson's split was timed in 45.69 seconds.

Elsewhere, Hannah Grace of Coastal Christian NC won the girls pole vault with a US#2 of 13 feet, 9 inches.

On the track and across the board, Bullis underscored its dominance.

Without two of the girls who set a national high school record of 3:35.23 at Florida, Bullis won the 4x400. Morgan Rothwell, Kennedy Brown, Kassidy Hopkins and Favor Udeochu clocked 3:43.04.

The missing two were Sydney Sutton, who won the 200 in 24.01 after a meet record in Friday's prelim (23.87), and Payton Payne, who ran 23.56 in prelims before withdrawing from the final.

Brown, Payne, Sutton and Kennedy Flynn won the 4x200 relay in 1:40.06.

Flynn, Hopkins and Gabby White ran to a 1-2-3 sweep of the 100 hurdles with times of 13.92, 13.97 and 14.26, respectively. Brown won the 400 hurdles in 1:02.30.

Woodward Academy GA won both 4x100 relays, clocking 47.24 in the girls race and 42.23 in the boys race.  Woodward boys won by 42.222 to 42.230 for Jackson-Reed DC.

Hoover AL took the boys 4x200 over Bullis, 1:27.09 to 1:27.41.

Boys double winners were sprinter Carson Edwards of The Field School DC in 10.69/21.48 and hurdler Anthony Waterman of DeMatha in 13.77/55.03. Waterman’s 110 hurdles time is US#11.

Brett Jones of Porter Gaud SC won the girls javelin with a distance of 135-11. She threw a US#1 of 166-5 on March 13.

Woodward’s Madison Gardner won the 400 in 54.35, compared to her season best of 53.62.
